Stykket is a small Siberian husky kennel located in Næroset, 2 hours drive from Oslo and 30 min. from Lillehammer. A total of 11 Siberians, Anne-Katrine Kroken and Hans Petter Lønning lives at Stykket. We bought our first Siberian Husky in the year of 2000, a little white female from Helge Ingstads kennel Brattalid. Unfortunately we had to put her "to sleep" in 2004 due to eyeillness, but she infected us with the "mushervirus" and there is no serum to be found. Suddenly we found ourselves (two urban people), in the middle of the woods, surrounded by big trees and howling dogs.
We keep the dogs for recreational purpose, but we have entered a few middle distance races. We spend most of our sparetime and money on the dogs, training, feeding, playing, learning, cleaning, driving and buying. We are lucky to live in an area were mushers are welcomed by the local authorities and neighbours, as long as we behave properly of course. We share the local trainingground with a handful of other mushers, mostly longdistance drivers.
Our dogs comes from a number of breeders. We had our first litter at Stykket in 2007, we kept 4 out of 5 puppies.
